Though she is in charge of the tutor biographies, Kassandra thinks it’s a bit strange to talk about herself in the third person and so will continue in the first person.
I was raised in the wilds of New Jersey, where there are probably more deer (and cows) than people. I grew up primarily an athlete and originally planned to play soccer for whatever college I attended. Halfway through high school, however, I found that I enjoyed music more than soccer and decided to focus on the flute. I won a scholarship to the Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College, where I studied performance...and ethnomusicology, Spanish linguistics, and philosophy, until I finally settled on music composition.
I graduated in 2010 and have held a wide variety of jobs both full and part time since then. A few of the stranger ones include stable hand, debt collection paralegal, and piano player for a little kid rock band. Throughout, however, I always tutored either for companies like Huntington Learning Centers or on my own.
I joined the Christianson team when I moved to Bethlehem in the summer of 2014. Now, I cover SAT and ACT tutoring for the Lehigh Valley as well as Reading and West Chester. Should the need arise, I am also available to tutor music theory students or anyone who needs help with college admission essays.
In my free time, I read. Like, a lot. I am a proud Potterhead and general fantasy enthusiast. I also write. I’ve had a couple of short stories published, and I’m currently working on revisions for my novel manuscript. I use the pen name Tamara Linden, since Kassandra Tamara Flamouropoulos is not the most marketable of names. You can check out some of my work at tamaralinden.com.
"Kassandra at Christianson Tutorials was very patient with my daughter. She didn't tell her what to do; instead she showed her how to come to the answer on her own. She would also walk her through strategies on taking the test and that helped her score around 300 points higher on her SAT. Kassandra was always very prompt to the tutoring sessions, which was important with our busy schedules. I would absolutely recommend her!"
